Costa Rica Our Own Pace

Day 1
- Breakfast included. This day, the Car Rental Executive will pick you up at the Hotel to take you to their Offices close to the Airport, where your 4x4 Daihatsu Terios Car will be given, so you to start your adventure thru this beautiful country. In order to fulfill all requirements, make sure to present your passport and driver´s license updated, be 21 years old or more and credit card for the rent, insurance and deposit. Once you conclude with all the paper work, you will be ready to continue your trip towards the North Side of the country, and be a witness of the spectacular lava flows of Arenal Volcano, the most active one of the country. Relax at any of the hot springs SPAs of the area, while you enjoy the view to the volcano. Lodging at Arenal Paraíso Hotel (2 nights). Approximate travel time: 3 hours.

Day 2
- Breakfast included. Enjoy the different activities available in the areas like: Venado Caves, Arenal Volcano National Park, La Fortuna Waterfalls, Caño Negro Wild Refuge or simply enjoy the different activities offered by the hotel. Lodging at Arenal Paraíso.

Day 3
- This day you will drive to the area of Monteverde, famous for its Cloud Forest Reserve. This afternoon you will be able to enjoy any of the two main activities of the area: the Sky Trek (Canopy Tour) or the Sky Walk (Hanging Bridges). Lodging at Heliconia Hotel.

Day 4
- Breakfast included. We recommend you dedicate this day to explore the trails of Monteverde Cloud Forest with a bilingual naturalist guide, so you can learn about relationship between flora and fauna, and also learn about Natural History of the area. In the afternoon, you can visit some of the close by and interesting sites of Monteverde, as: the town of Santa Elena, the hummingbird gallery, the butterfly farm, or the Monteverde Cheese Factory, funded and operated by the Quaker Community. Lodging at Heliconia Hotel.

Day 5
- Breakfast included. This day you continue your journey to the Central Pacific Side of Costa Rica, driving thru the Pan-American Highway, passing the towns of Caldera and Jaco Beach until you arrive at Hotel Arenal Pacifico, located in Playa Jaco. 2 nights lodging.

Day 6
- Breakfast included. The recommendation for this day is to drive to Manuel Antonio National Park, located 1.30 hour away South from your Hotel. This beautiful park offers three white sand beaches and abundant wild life as white face monkeys, sloths, iguanas and many colourful birds. Stay at Hotel Arenal Pacifico, Playa Jaco

Day 7
– Breakfast included. Departure. This day you will drive your car to the Airport. Drive along the famous Monte del Aguacate; enjoy the stunning view and the towns of Atenas and La Garita. Approximate driving time: 2 hours. Return your car at the Car Rental Office located near the Airport.
